New initiative combines Teradata enterprise intelligence systems with DataFlux data quality technologies for master data management
Cary, N.C. (May 20, 2010) — DataFlux, a leading provider of data management solutions, and Teradata, a global leader in data warehousing and enterprise analytics, today announced a partnership agreement for the Americas region to add industry-leading data quality technology to Teradata data warehousing and master data management (MDM) environments. The solution is a joint offering that combines Teradata’s Enterprise Data Warehouse with DataFlux data quality technologies, enabling organizations to more effectively manage growing volumes of detailed enterprise data accurately, reliably and consistently.
Data warehousing systems collect, organize and analyze data from many sources to produce an integrated view of detailed information, often for use in real time. With data volumes rising from every direction and companies requiring more detail, quality and accuracy to make business decisions and process controls more effective, there is a critical need for data warehousing to be powered by high-quality data. DataFlux and Teradata are collaborating to improve data integrity by embedding quality-optimizing processes in the data warehouse infrastructure to consolidate, cleanse, match and standardize data across the enterprise.
Organizations today need to view high-quality data as a strategic asset and understand its importance to the success of intelligence-driven business processes. By combining industry-leading technologies, DataFlux and Teradata are targeting organizations that need to proactively address data quality issues. When unresolved, these issues not only drive up the cost of quality but can undermine processes that govern economic performance, including financial analysis, customer relationships and the supply chain.
"When reliable and trusted data is used to make business decisions, the entire organization benefits," said Tony Fisher, president and CEO of DataFlux. "We're joining forces with Teradata to offer combined data management and enterprise data solutions. By relying on the industry's leading data quality platform, Teradata can provide an accurate, up-to-date view of actionable information across systems, departments and entire businesses."
"The use of reliable and consistently accurate data should be a business imperative for any data warehouse project," said Rob Berman, vice president of Teradata. "With our combined technologies, we are enhancing the value of the data warehouse and raising users’ confidence and trust in the insight being delivered to the business – while saving our shared customers significant time and money."
